A major exhibition dedicated to filmmaker Shunji Iwai is set to open in Tokyo, marking the first large-scale showcase of his career.
Titled “Shunji Iwai Exhibition” (TBD), the exhibition will run from March 6 to May 9, 2027 at the Setagaya Literary Museum in Roka Park.
Best known for films including Love Letter, Swallowtail, All About Lily Chou-Chou, and Kyrie, Iwai has built a distinct creative universe defined by poetic visuals and a constant push toward new forms of expression.
The upcoming exhibition will look beyond his filmography, offering a broader view of his work across literature, music, and visual art, unpacking the layered storytelling that defines his projects.
More details, including exhibit highlights and ticket information, will be announced in the coming months.
