The timetable for “CHAGU CHAGU ROCK FESTIVAL 2024,” an outdoor music festival to be held for the first time on June 8 (Sat.) and 9 (Sun.) at Tsugawa Miraikan Apio in Takizawa, Iwate, has been announced.
The festival will be hosted by NTV affiliate TV Iwate, which will celebrate its 55th anniversary in 2024. A total of 17 artists have been announced so far, including the Wolframs, Chikyusankyodai, DRAGON ASH, HYDE, Hitsujibungaku, Kroi, Wednesday Campanella, and Reisan.
FLYING KIDS was the top batter on the first day, and a total of 9 artists appeared until the trio, Ulfuls. On the second and final day, which opens with Harukamirai, a total of eight artists will perform, including ACIDMAN, who will perform at the end of the day. Morioka City’s traditional performing art “Sansa Odori” will be performed on both days by “Morioka Sansa Odori Seiryu,” a group that preserves and carries on the tradition.
The event name “CHAGU CHAGU” comes from “Chagu Chagu Umako,” a festival in which about 100 horses in gorgeous harnesses march from a shrine in Takizawa City, where the festival is held, to a shrine in the neighboring city of Morioka. The festival is named after “Chagu Chagu Umako,” a festival in which horses in harness march from a shrine in Takizawa City to a shrine in the neighboring city of Morioka.
In Morioka City, a free festival “Ishigaki Music Festival” has been held since 2007 (until 2008, only the main venue charged a fee), featuring many melo-core artists, but this is the first time a large-scale music festival with a fee has been held in Takizawa and Morioka City. This will be the first performance in Iwate for artists such as Hitsujibungaku, Kroi, Wednesday Campanella, and Reisan, as well as the first triumphant return to Iwate for kroi member Hiroki Chiba (Key), who is from Morioka.
Tickets for one-day and two-day tickets are now on sale at various playguides. Premium admission tickets with parking tickets are sold out, but a paid shuttle bus will run from Morioka Station and Takizawa Station, the nearest station to the venue, to the venue on the day of the event.
