Rune Naito

Born in Okazaki City, Aichi Prefecture in 1932. In 1951, he joined Himawari-sha, a company run by Junichi Nakahara, and made his debut as an illustrator in 1953. 1959, he made his big breakthrough when he was in charge of the cover of "Junior Soreiyu". In 1959, he was in charge of the cover of "Junior Soreiyu", which was his big break. He was active as an illustrator for many magazines, and from the 1960s onward, he broadened his activities with his free ideas, including magazine supplements, fancy goods with character designs, handicrafts, and interior design proposals, etc. In 2002, his first retrospective exhibition was held at the Yayoi Art Museum (Tokyo), bringing him back into the spotlight. 2007: He passed away in his sleep, In 2007, he passed away at the age of 74.
