Essential Elements for the Love Between Art and Music
Art and music are often combined in discussions about collaboration and interdisciplinary approaches. What kind of future can we envision through this pairing? It’s not merely about gazing up at completed works that serve as icons. Instead, the opportunity for collaboration and coexistence lies in creating spaces and pathways where we can share the processes that lead to these creations, keeping them open to all. In such an environment, the improvisational nature of music and dance, along with their porous qualities that welcome and release diverse elements, can truly flourish.
The global expansion envisioned by “MUSIC LOVES ART” and the Cultural Agency does not focus on co-creating open processes or methods. Rather, it aims to produce closed, polished content that can be exported abroad. However, this direction strays far from the goals set by the 1970 Osaka Expo and the collaborative spirit of music showcased at ”SUMMER SONIC OSAKA.” Indifference to others equates to a lack of “LOVE.” Consequently, this also signifies a break in the continuity of history.
