The music event “MODE AT LIQUIDROOM” will be held on September 21 (Saturday) at LIQUIDROOM in Ebisu, Tokyo.
“MODE” is an event series created by the London-based music label and event production company “33-33” and the Tokyo-based curatorial collective “BLISS,” known for their experimental art and music projects. In June 2024, they hosted “MODE 2024” for nine days at venues including Sogetsu Hall in Minato, Tokyo, showcasing experimental music, audiovisual art, and performing arts.
“MODE AT LIQUIDROOM” will feature a performance by the rhythm ensemble GOAT, led by the Osaka-based musician Hiroshi Hino (YPY), and the Glasgow-based trio Still House Plants. GOAT is known for its music that often disregards traditional instrument scales, focusing instead on noises and muted sounds generated during play. Celebrating their 10th anniversary in 2023, they released their first album in about eight years, “Joy in Fear.” This event marks the debut of Still House Plants in Japan. The trio, consisting of vocals, guitar, and drums, is gaining international attention for their experimental and original soundscapes. They released their third album, “If I Don’t Make It, I Love You,” in April 2024.
