A performance planned and written by Yuki Naito, “Natsu no Ke ni Naru,” a play that ends when rice is cooked in a rice cooker, will be performed at Shimokitazawa Stardust in Tokyo from September 5 (Thu.) to 7 (Sat.).
Yuki Naito has been a member of Asagaya Spiders, a theater company led by Keishi Nagatsuka, since 2020. This performance was submitted by Naito at a planning workshop, and will be performed in two forms: a “normal cooking performance” and a “quick cooking performance” with different performers.
Naito will write the script and plan the “Normal Cooking Performance,” while Yu Yamashita (Pityman) will direct and help write the script. In addition to Naito, the cast includes Yuuki Sagane and Ai Sasaki. The “Quick Cook Performance” will be written and directed by Yu Yamashita (Pityman), and will feature Naito, Sagane, and Sasaki, who also appear in the “Normal Cook Performance,” as well as Mina Kato, Kessaku Oriuchi, and Keisuke Suzuki (Compsons / Tokyo Shiokouji).
【Yuki Naito’s comment】
Nice to meet you. Hello, I am Yuki Naito.
I was thinking that working for a living was not enough and I wanted to do something fun, so I told my friends about it, and the conversation went very smoothly.
I have only lived for 31 years, so my history is short, but I hope to present what I have experienced in my own shallow way.
It is a play that ends when I cook rice in a rice cooker and cook it.
I came up with the idea because I like eating rice.
I will do my best. Thank you very much.
