The play “You can really peer into our heart of hearts?” by Hanchuyuei will be performed at the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Space, Theater East in Ikebukuro, Tokyo from July 6 (Sat) to 14 (Sun), 2010.
In 2022, Hanchuyuei won the “66th Kishida Kunio Drama Award” for “Banana Flowers Are Edible”.The play was written by Suguru Yamamoto and directed by Tomoko Kawaguchi, and was first performed in 2021. It is said to depict human kindness and love beyond abuse and violence. Yamamoto will write and direct this performance, and music will be provided by musician Keiichi Sokabe.
The cast includes Kan Fukuhara (Hantsuyuei) as the husband of a commentator who has been socially sanctioned after a firestorm, Sae Igami (MOMELAS) as his wife who is obsessed with their neighbor’s trash, Tomoka Ishihara and Mizuki Kano (SANTENTORISTU) as a young couple living in a newly built house next door who suffer from neighbor problems and petty differences between the couple. Tomoka Ishihara and Mizuki Kano (Sanken Tadatate) play a young couple who live in a newly built house next door to theirs and are troubled by the couple’s minor differences.Yamamoto plays a paparazzi who relentlessly pursues the couple.

I believe that one of my tasks is to put multiple meanings and souls into one language. This does not mean that I want to abandon the absoluteness of the language. For example, I do not doubt that the language of love is absolute. But it becomes relative when it is felt by people different from me. To confirm that feeling, one enters into a relationship with another human being. Or they break off the relationship. In this way, absolute love becomes a relative story. That is what I want to express. I have done it. Or rather, I will do it in this work. As soft and gentle as possible, yet spicy and multilayered.
