TeXi’s will hold a one-year project “Fuzzy”.
TeXi’s was founded in 2021 by Ayano Tezuka as a group to create performing arts incorporating fashion shows and dance elements, with the theme of looking at the relationship between victims and perpetrators from multiple perspectives while focusing on the nature of the parties involved, and is oriented toward “not gentle but gentle art” that allows time to face oneself while being hurt.
“Fuzzy” is a one-year project that considers the “perpetration” that is created by gender dualism, and will present three works through repeated recreation throughout the year. The first play, “theirs,” brings to the surface the perpetration that men carry, and beyond that, the universal perpetration that we all carry as human beings. The second play, “ours,” brings to the surface the perpetration that women also carry and depicts the social structure that has created the perpetration. The third play, “yours,” will be created with the entire cast, and the company aims to dismantle gender dualism through the three works.
All three productions will be written and directed by Ayano Tezuka. “Theirs” will be performed at Atelier Shunpusha in Kotakemukaihara, Tokyo, from June 9 (Sun) to 16 (Sun), featuring Kazuya kamizawa, Kohei Aragaki, Tao Kurosawa (Seinendan), and Yoshikuni Matsuzaki (Tokyo Deathlock). The performance of “yours” will be held at ST Spot in Yokohama, Kanagawa from August 21 (Wed) to 25 (Sun), and features performances by Michi Furukawa (TeXi’s), Manami Nagisa, Moe Haemori (Seinendan), Tsumugi Harada (Tokyo Deathlock / Nuthmique), and Satomi Houbo (Compsons). “yours” is scheduled to be performed at BUoY in Kitasenju, Tokyo in late December, and the entire cast will appear.
【Ayano Tezuka’s comment】
We are currently practice.
We are having a lot of debates in order to dismantle the dualism of men and women.
We are living in the present, but we are making this play with the future in mind.
A better future is a society without discrimination.
I want to bring the richness of the rehearsal hall, where opinions are exchanged lightly while worrying, directly to the theater.
I hope you will see the first of the three productions.
We look forward to seeing you at the theater.
