The special exhibition “PLUTO Exhibition Commemorating the Animation Adaptation: Baton from Atom and Pluto” will be held at the Osamu Tezuka Memorial Museum in Takarazuka, Hyogo Prefecture, from November 3 (Friday, national holiday) to February 18 (Sunday), 2024.
The exhibition commemorates the anime adaptation of Naoki Urasawa’s manga “PLUTO,” which will be distributed worldwide on Netflix from October 26. The exhibition traces the manga version of “PLUTO” back to “The Greatest Robot on Earth,” a chapter of Osamu Tezuka’s “Astro Boy,” which was the original story, and reveals the homages to the original story that abound in PLUTO and the message that Tezuka himself put into his work. In addition to an exhibition of handwritten manuscripts of both works contrasted with each other under the themes of characters, homage to the original work, and the final scene, footage from the animated version of “PLUTO” and setting materials will also be introduced.
