The special exhibition “Ogai and Soseki in Sendagi: A Walk Through Their Exchanges and Works” will be held at the Mori Ogai Memorial Museum in Sendagi, Tokyo, from October 7 (Sat) to January 14 (Sun), 2024.
The exhibition introduces the interaction between Mori Ogai and Natsume Soseki and their works with “Sendagi” as a keyword. In addition to looking back on their lives as “Ogai and Soseki” ,the exhibition also presents as “Ogai and Soseki in Sendagi” the history of the house at 57 Sendagi-cho, Komagome, commonly known as “Cat’s House,” where the two lived, although at different times, and the interplay between characters in Ogai Mori’s “The Youth” and Soseki Natsume’s “Sanshiro,” both set in Sendagi, along with first editions and letters.
Gallery talks, literary walks, readings, and other events are also scheduled during the exhibition period. For details on related events, check the official website.
