The suspense-horror film “Tales from the Occult” will be released in theaters on December 1 (Friday).
Set in Hong Kong, this omnibus film consists of three short films depicting bizarre phenomena that occur in “distorted spaces” with a strange atmosphere encountered in daily life. Up to the third film in the series has already been produced, and this film is the first in the series.
The first is “The Chink” about a woman frightened by an “eye,” the second is “Dead Mall” about a live-streamer who has a terrifying experience in a mall where customers have disappeared, and the third is “The Tenement” about five residents, including a novelist and a yakuza, who try to exterminate a ghost they have seen in their apartment building.
Directed by Wesley Hoi Ip Sang of “The Chink” his first feature film, “Dead Mall” is directed by Fruit Chan of “Made in Hong Kong” and “Apartment” is directed by Fung Chih-chiang.
