Theatre troupe Impression -indian elephant- will present “Dog and Dictator” at Ekimae Theater in Shimokitazawa, Tokyo, from July 21 (Fri.) to 30 (Sun.).
Gekidan Impression is a theater company founded in 2003 by playwright and director Atsuto Suzuki. Based on the belief that “play transcends national borders,” the company performs works that can be enjoyed beyond language and cultural barriers. This year’s performance marks the 20th anniversary and 30th show for Impression Theatre Company.
The Dog and the Dictator” is about the relationship between Mikhail Bulgakov, a Ukrainian-born Russian writer, and Stalin, the Soviet dictator who once wrote poetry as a young man.
