The special exhibition “LIGHT: Works from the Tate Collection” will be held at the National Art Center, Tokyo in Roppongi and the Nakanoshima Museum of Art in Nakanoshima, Osaka.
The exhibition will feature approximately 120 works on the theme of “light” from the collection of the Tate Museum in the U.K. The exhibition will focus on the trajectory of light-related works by artists from the late 18th century to the present day, including paintings, photographs, sculptures, drawings, kinetic art, installations, and videos. The exhibition will focus on the trajectory of light-related works by artists from the end of the 20th century to the present day. Also noteworthy is the venue configuration, which brings together works created in different periods and regions, and allows the exhibited works to respond to each other within the context of their respective themes.
