#Yoshie Kurisu
She creates numerous participatory artworks that connect people and communities from different cultures, attempting social change through processes of dialogue and collaboration. After being diagnosed with osteosarcoma in 2010, she encountered the world of disability welfare and established SLOW LABEL (now certified NPO Slow Label). As General Director for the Yokohama Para Triennale (2014 / 2017 / 2020), she developed accessibility frameworks for creative activities involving people with disabilities. In 2019, with support from Cirque du Soleil, she produced Japan's first social circus troupe, SLOW CIRCUS. Served as Stage Advisor overseeing overall DE&I for the Rio Paralympic Closing Ceremony and Flag Handover Ceremony, as well as the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Opening and Closing Ceremonies. Also serves as a Social Inclusion Committee member for Tokyo Metropolitan Theatre and is a regular commentator on TBS's “Hiruobi.”
