After working as an editor for a fashion and culture magazine in Sendai, she resigned due to family circumstances. She spent her twenties caring for her mother, who suffered from a serious illness. In 2011, she began chronicling her female friends’ romantic lives through illustrations and essays, which went viral online; she made her debut with the publication of a book based on her blog by Magazine House. She is currently active in television, radio, magazines, and online media. After marrying in 2014 and giving birth to her first child, a daughter, in 2017, she launched “Children’s Lives Belong to Children,” a team of celebrities raising awareness about child abuse. She is also active as a member of “Kodomo Gift,” a program that delivers support to children in need of foster care through crowdfunding. In her new book, *I Don’t Want You to Regret Being Born a Girl*, she interviews experts on parenting concerns such as mother-daughter relationships, sex education, gender, navigating social media, body image issues, bullying, and dieting.
